Postojna Caves

DS8 (Darling son age 8) says "The problem with the tour guide is that he doesn't think it's so amazing because he's been in here a thousand times. He just wants to keep going."

The Postojna caves are spectacular. They rival the Grand Canyon as a natural wonder of the world- 41 km long, 10 km deep- the formations are exquisite. However, with the Grand Canyon you can visit and stay as long as you like. Here we had 1 1/2 hours to cover 5km. Light is damaging to the color of the formations, so they are quick to move people through for the 3 tours they allow each day. Also, photos are restricted to certain caverns. It's the same rule as the churches- don't photograph what is rightfully God's.
